Hussein Chalayan Fall 2011
The cuts were clean, the tailoring was sharp, and the exectuion was brilliant at Hussein Chalayans Fall 2011 show in Paris yesterday. Chalayan showed a range of perfectly tailored pieces in black whites and dark reds. The Japanese inspiration which Hussein discussed before the show was present through his use of kimono like sleeves the whimsical prints and delicate textures of the coats and jackets. Oversized blazers and A-line dresses evoked images of the late ninties, while the finale dress added a modern twist to the classic collection. Tuesday, 22 February 2011

Charles Anastase Fall 2011
Anastase has often named Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita as his muse, and this season it seems the eternal teenager has in fact grown up. The colours worked beautifully together, creams and camels created a brilliant basis for the collection, while blacks and deep reds were used to add drama and intensity. The collection was made up of A-line skirts and coats, shift dresses and loosely flared trousers. But the highlight of the show came from Anastases brilliant use of texture, from perfectly draped silk, to blood red velvet, the use of METAL, and the intricate detailing, the choices and execution of the fabric were a thing of beauty. As for accessories the sky scraping ankle wedges, shown in black, brown, tan, and nude leather will surely be added to many girls wish lists this season.Saturday, 19 February 2011
